The Blackwing pencil was introduced in the 1930′s by Eberhard Faber and was the pencil of choice for Oscar, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize winners throughout the 20th century. After it was discontinued in the 1990′s, fans began paying as much as $40 per pencil to seize unused stock. In 2010, Palomino revived the Blackwing, and it is now available in three different models.
- A Blackwing pencil is an investment, so why use a regular pencil sharpener? The Blackwing Long Point Sharpener makes a long pencil point through a two-step process, first sharpening the wood and then precision sharpening the graphite core. The sharpener’s automatic brake prevents oversharpening and its two spare blades will make sure you stay sharp. Made in Germany.
A pencil as unique as the Blackwing deserves an eraser to match. Available in white and pink, these replacement erasers for the Palomino Blackwing, Palomino Blackwing 602, and Palomino Blackwing Pearl. Erase cleanly and smoothly every time. Clean, smooth and bold – it could only be a Blackwing. 10 erasers per package.
